Anne Helen Petersen is a writer & journalist based in Missoula, Montana. She worked as a Senior Culture Writer for Buzzfeed and in 2019, she wrote a piece on “Millennial Burnout” for Buzzfeed News that went viral, getting over 7 million views. She then expanded that piece into her 2020 book, “Can’t Even: How Millennials Became the Burnout Generation”

In 2020, she left Buzzfeed to write independently under her own Substack channel, Culture Study.

This is the logo that I designed for Anne, for her new channel, ‘Culture Study’

Anne Helen Petersen’s deeply reported, beautifully written explorations of culture are almost indescribably idiosyncratic. But I always feel rewarded for the time I spend with her, because she’s such a keen-eyed observer of the world around her. Some keywords: justice, work life, parenting, celebrity, religion. I also always look forward to her Sunday “just trust me,” a truly unpredictable recommendation for one of the week’s best stories across the web.
