Michael Shermer is an American science writer, executive director of The Skeptics Society and founding publisher of Skeptic magazine. The Skeptics Society is a non-profit organization that promotes scientific skepticism and seeks to debunk pseudoscience and irrational beliefs.

For this design, there were many ideas that I wanted to play with. I introduced the chess piece to represent the power that religion has exerted through the centuries & it’s shadow representing the invisible influence that it still has on us today. But it’s also about Michael Shermer entering the scene & making his move to shine a light on pseudoscience & irrational beliefs & his dedication to viewing the world through a scientific lens.
