The first thing that you should know about James Fell is that he swears. A lot.
He’s the author of ‘The Holy Sh!t Moment: How Lasting Change Can Happen in an Instant’ and ‘Lose it Right: A Brutally Honest 3-Stage Program to Help You Get Fit and Lose Weight Without Losing Your Mind’. He’s also written for the Los Angeles Times, the Chicago Tribune & TIME Magazine.
But Covid-19 changed James Fell’s career arc & I find his story so inspiring:
“On April 19th, 2020 I decided to write an “on this day” history piece and post it to my Facebook page. And it was popular, so the next day I did another. And that one was a lot more popular. So, I kept doing them and titled the daily column “On This Day in History, Sh!t Went Down” and in the first month there were over a million readers.”
As it happens, I stumbled upon James Fell’s Facebook channel pretty early in the pandemic. I found his brutally honest & irreverent style refreshing & funny — especially during a time of lockdown stress, doomscrolling & the fake news cycle. So when I was asked to design a logo for James Fell’s new channel, ‘Sweary History’, I couldn’t believe my luck!
It was also fun to find out that James is just as witty on a video call as he is in his daily column.
